Preaparing for Projects

Our 4-week training course is a comprehensive training curriculum that helps you understand and navigate the intricacies of working as a teen mentor. It includes lessons on Teen Psychology, Influence Dynamics, Discipline & Dream Driving, Classroom Dynamics and stories that inspire the teenagers to build emotional resilience.

Training Requirements & Expectations

Attendance

Be present and punctual in all classes, with active participation in the course of the classes. Each class is 2 hours long and is held online.

Participation

You must be prepared to turn on your video in the course of the classes. Active participation is key in these trainings.

Practice

There are two practical assignments in the course of the training (weeks 2 & 3) which you must complete i order to proceed to the projects.

Examination

You must pass the final examination at the end of the training to qualify for the projects. You must make at least 60% in the final exam to proceed.

Resources

You will be required to use two books during the trainings: MY EMOTIONS & I and I WISH I KNEW THIS BEFORE I WAS FOURTEEN. Get them HERE.

Understand what mentoring entails and how to leverage influence in mentoring.

Asking the right questions will help you understand how to navigate the mentoring experience.

Discipline That Works

Unpack the dynamics of discipline and what works with working with teenagers.

Classroom Dynamics

Understand how to navigate the challenges of the classroom experience with teenagers.
